As a Swede, who is super proud of both "Heroes" and "Euphoria", I admit I see your point.

Our national selection (with 4 semi-finals and an international jury having 50% of the say) basically guarantees that a polished, "high-quality," jury-favorite pop song will win.

And I'm getting fucking tired of it. Please, let us take a chance! For once!

It has gotten to the point where I am actively rooting against my own country in Eurovision.

I love and adore Eurovision. But, like the Swedish songs usually are just fine, at least to my taste. It's the power ballad divas I hate, not the catchy over-produced pop. But, like, to each their own, eh?

Personally, my favorite song and performance from 2019 was Australia. :D

What I don't like is that every year, most of the songs try to sound like whatever won the previous year. Mind you, I loved the year after Lordi won, all of the heavy songs were awesome!
