See, on the one hand I get it, and on the other hand, I think some rapists and pedophiles were raped at some point and their abuse contributed to their becoming abusers.

But then, the only rapist pedophile I knew (or at least, that I knew I knew) was my maternal grandfather, who’d been raped as a child and turned around and raped his own children. On a borrowed third hand, though, plenty of rape victims don’t become rapists themselves, as evinced by all three of his kids not turning into reprehensible slimeballs like their dad.
