I'm tired of hearing "Stories about oppression shouldn't exist, and people who write about it are secretly oppression fetishists because why else would they choose to write about that when they could create a fictional world where oppression doesn't exist, I am a mind-reader and know this is every author's intent blah blah BLAAAH"

"It's too bleak for me" is a personal opinion, so it's different. "Don't like, don't read" is fine. I don't think the OP is doing what I talked about above, and I wish more people who didn't like stories about oppression would admit it's a personal opinion and not expect the literary world to cater to them.

+1, the OP says "for me" so I'm fine with that. They're not saying it shouldn't be written or is detracting from a thing they otherwise like.
