I recently lost a piece of gear that I need for my hobby and it hit me hard, both because of the sentimental value of the object and because I can't do my hobby the same way. Until I can get a replacement (which is not easy), I do something adjacent that's still fun but it's not the same.

There are two women who basically replaced me. I know both of them have wanted to do this for a while, and they're excited for the opportunity. I try to be happy for them instead of bursting with jealousy. It's easy for one of the women, who is visibly enthusiastic, and has asked me for tips and help. The other woman though is a generally negative, pessimistic person; by default, she exudes an aura of annoyance, like she had a long, shitty day already and just wants to get it over with. And even though I know she's happy to get do this, when I see her setting up her gear with her typical air of long suffering, I just want to shake her until she either admits that this is fun, or hands me her gear and fucks off. I cannot stand seeing her doing what I had to give up and act like it's this huge imposition.

Man, that sucks. Nothing so aggravating than someone being super-negative about a thing that you are super-positive about, and yet they say the like the thing!!!

That sucks. It is totally okay to be annoyed at them and jealous. Allow yourself to feel whatever you feel. And that one woman sounds like she's making this more difficult for you, and I totally get why you are angry. I'm really sorry. I hope you get your replacement soon. And I hope that that woman stops making this so difficult for you.
