If you think that's bad, try buying fabric to make your own clothes, putting 10+ hours into a pair of jeans, and watching them fall apart in a month.

Apparel fabric is SHIT.

Omg it sucks. I was trying to make a dress and the fabric was pilling as I was sewing it. I'm 100% convinced that my local big chain fabric store gets all the fabric that even the cheap sweatshops pass on. It's that bad.

And it's not just the chain stores, right? I've ordered from Mood and had designer denim and double knit bag out after a half-hour of wear.

That is such a scam!

Retail quality is so poor now too. That's the reason I wanted to make my own stuff but I guess we're just locked out of getting quality fabric unless we pay for pre-made designer clothes.

My grandmother says quilting fabric has gotten a lot cheaper feeling too and she didn't want to make anything for the newborn in our family because it wasn't softening after washing.
