How often do you suffer from dry lips?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine are just constantly dry no matter how much water I drink. :(

All the time in the winter. Use plain old vasaline at night, and in the day, too. It now comes in some nice scents and even one with a slight rose tint, and also in tiny little easy to carry around containers.

It's pretty much the only thing that works for me when my fingers are cracking open and my lips feel like they're on fire.

Yes, regular Classic Chap Stick (NEVER FLAVORED, NEVER THE MEDICATED ONE- that burns!- and with no sunscreen if you can avoid it). That burns. Or regular Vaseline petrolatum jelly in a jar. These are THE ONLY TWO THINGS that soothe my chapped lips.

That sounds like you're assuming they're dry because you're dehydrated? I don't think that's always the case, especially if you live somewhere windy/cold with a low humidity. I always step up my chapstick use in the winter - the medicated kind if your lips get cracked like mine do.

This. My lips always get dry in the winter no matter how much I drink because I live in a place that can get very cold in the winter and the air dries out.

My lips are fine but my hands and fingers have been really dry and cracky recently, and it's surprising because it's a problem I've never had in the past.

Constantly.

Mine are pretty dry all the time, even in the summer. But I'm just a dry person; dry eyes, dry skin, dry hair, you name it.

I use Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask most nights, though, and it does help quite a bit.

Not often, I don't use any kind of chapstick whatsoever. The rest of my skin is another story. Weirdly enough I managed to get just one of my hands cut from the cold this year. Left hand, please share your secret with right hand lol

Pretty often so I have a lot of lip balms. I'm wearing berry buttercream cupcake flavor lip balm right now.

I constantly chew at my lips, so I barely notice when they're dry.

I used to until I stepped up my lip balm game. Just get a lip balm that you like; there are many different kinds but I still love good old Lip Smackers in 7Up which is untinted for overnights, and Dr. Pepper or Strawberry which both have a very slight pink tint for daytime (Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers is my holy grail lip balm, I've used it since the 1970s when if first came out). Slather it on and carry it with you to use all day, put it on at night and sleep in it, and with regular use dry lips will be a thing of the past. Consistency is key.

A lot even though I don't have dry skin anywhere else. Probably mostly because I rarely can breathe through my nose. I think breathing through your mouth makes you more susceptible to dry lips maybe? The rest of my skin is super oily.

I do in Winter. Hurraw is the lipstick I use as it's gluten free and it doesn't make my lips worse when I froget to use it as some lip balms do.

Pretty often, but I've found that rubbing coconut oil on them before bed helps. Coconut oil also helps my hands and elbows, which tend to get super dried out, especially in winter. After I apply it to my lips, I rub some on my hands and then use a damp paper towel to wipe off the excess off of my palms as well as any gritty/flaky bits that refused to melt properly. Then I rub some of my favorite lotion on over the oil. It really works a treat!
