I get what you're saying, but the way you're saying it is incredibly clumsy. "Dialogue-based" shows mean something entirely different that don't necessarily do any of those things.

Dr. Horrible, for example, would be dialogue-heavy. Kevin Smith movies, also. I think you've failed to make a distinction between "heavy use of dialogue" and "telling, not showing."

I'm talking about animation and cartoons specifically, sorry for the misunderstanding. Animation is animation because it relies on visuals to tell its story.

All film relies on visuals to tell the story. That isn't an excuse. Just because dialogue hasn't been pursued in such a way in an animated setting doesn't mean that it's incompatible with the medium.
