I had IRL friends who weren't in fandom and they knew that I was a manga/anime fan and thought it was cool for the most part. I only time I had a friend who made a snide remark of about it, I pretty much put her in her place and she never remarked on it again.

I'm pretty sure most hetshippers don't give a shit if they're slashed. Not!Fandom 1: You must not have a lot of friends because they will like things you don't, and if it something as silly over fandom, you need to detached yourself because you are not your fandom, seriously.
