They're very repetitive imo, I don't mind them, but meh.

I like these too, though I know they've been the subject of some derision lately. Some are definitely more half-assed than others, but I really like the concept, and a lot of people do really nice things with them.

Same, OP, I'd love to make some for my own OCs but I'm always afraid it'll come off as amateurish

Same. I once saw a shirt I liked in one, googled it, bought it, screamed about it on Twitter and then got asked for a link and a friend bought it too.

They're definitely not my jam, but hey to each their own.

I love these as well. There's something very pleasing about them.

Is anyone else concerned that that (presumed) woman in the first pic appears to be wearing a corset next to her bare skin?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-22 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
What's wrong with that?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-22 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Good way to get chafes and red marks on your skin, and ruin the corset faster. They're supposed to go on over a chemise.

I love them (especially for bookish fandoms) but I always sideeye that the photographer(s) are never credited and probably were never asked (especially iffy when ppl change things on the pics). I don't believe for a second that everyone uses free stockphotography.

I don't mind the idea of moodboards/aesthetics, but most of what I come across are just repeats of the same pictures. And no matter which characters they portray and which era, the models are pretty much always skinny 2010s teens. And that shit gets old fast.

Why is this a secret?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-22 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe I've been out of the fandom loop lately, but I always thought they were a staple on tumblr that people loved?

I don't personally care for them other than as a tool for learning how to organize color/shape/form/etc., but I didn't realize people were critical of them.
