ASMR

Today I learned that there's a genre of ASMR that has scripted content. One example:

Do you watch ASMR? What are your favorite ASMR-videos?

I don't. Just the description of noises used in that stuff sets my teeth on edge.

Not for that purpose, but there's this cooking channel occasionally making its way to my feed that seems to be some mix between Instagram and ASMR. No narration, just very pretty filming of sweets being made with an unusually sensitive mike.

..........i don't get it.
It's people whispering and making noise with things. What is it supposed to do, exactly?

I don't like hearing people make mouth noises (smacking of lips, big inhalations) when they talk, so the whispering thing is not good.

I like the sounds of make-up being put on my face. It makes me feel pampered and cared for and legit helps my anxiety and puts me to sleep. So that's what it's for?

There are some that hit my kinks because they're involving you, directed at you, and they're in character. The roleplay ones. But the ones with the loud mouth noises or whispering while unboxing or watching kittens? I don't get it either. I also don't it when the whispering is unintelligible, again, what is the point? it can't be soothing or comforting if you can't hear anything, nor can it be exciting or arousing.

I can see one that's roleplay, yes, but like you said...just the unintelligible whispers or whatever....eh.

Same! The one and only time I tried listening to ASMR I had a full-on panic attack within 10 seconds. Brrr. Never again.

I don't like any of them.

No. They kind of give me the heebie jeebies.

I like the ones of people just quietly doing show and tell with things. I find it relaxing.
