Huh, I started watching it late last night and stayed up until 2 am to finish, and have been wowing about it since.
I found the pacing of S3 MUCH better than S2, even with the two storylines, and aside form the brief "fart blossom" stuff, I found this season overall less juvenile than previous ones. (I don't want to give spoilers, but if you're invested in the "Tinker" storyline at all, episode 3 is a must.)

I can understand the sun elf stuff; I'm photosensitive as well, and it is pretty bright. What helps a lot if if your TV has a "theatre mode" (or a Lux setting on your computer) that tones down some of the intensity of the red-orange-yellow and fire effects. Also helps to watch with a little extra ambient light in the room, which helps)
