Yeah, it was misogynistic, but it wasn't racist. British assholes use "dog" as an insulting terms for women they find unattractive, regardless of gender.

(I presume anon upthread is half remembering the "no dogs, no Chinese" signs that were alleged to be hung on park gates in Shanghai*, but 'dog' was not used as a racial slur against the Chinese).

* They weren't, but otoh Chinese people weren't allowed in the park, and neither were dogs, so while the sign is a myth, the racism was real.
