I just lost my bunny. I spent the whole day crying and I don't know what to do. I had her for almost a decade and I loved her so fucking much and I don't know what I'll do without her. I woke up in the morning to feed her, went to work to take care of her needs, cleaned up the flat for her sake and so on. I've never felt so alone because I've had her ever since I started living on my own. I'm perfectly aware that it might sound stupid because she's just a pet, but she never was just a pet to me.

I don't even know why I'm rambling here, but I just feel so lost even though I've friends and family who would probably listen but they wouldn't get it and that'd piss me off. I don't want to talk about it with the people who know me but at the same time I need to get it out. Sorry, guys.

At least I was told she didn't suffer. And she had a long happy life, or so I hope. I tried my best anyway.

I'm so sorry. I'm sure she had the best possible life with you to love and care for her. <3

You don’t have to apologize, and I’m sorry. Losing a pet is always awful, but I’m glad your bunny had someone who loved them so much.

Oh nonny, it's not stupid. Please don't feel like your very valid reasons for grieving are stupid. Your bunny was your family. Of course you'd grieve her loss. I lost my childhood dog to cancer and I was a mess for weeks after. I still miss her every now and then. Please take care of yourself and remember to be kind to yourself. /hugs

Oh noes, Anon!
I'm so very, very sorry. I cried for days every time we've had to put one of our cats down/lost a cat. They're our *family*, and there's nothing stupid about your grief or your feelings of helplessness and loss.

Your bunny was your friend and your comfort - nothing wrong with that. I'm glad she had a good life with you, and that you took such good care of her.

*hugs*

Losing a pet is very hard. I'm glad your bunny had a great life with you though.

AYRT

Thank you so much for your kind words, guys.

That sort of helps, knowing that my feelings are legitimate.

Thanks.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. You've lost a family member, someone you loved. You're feelings are perfectly okay and normal. She clearly was loved and well cared for and lived a good life. Please don't feel guilty for mourning her.

No pet is ever just a pet. I'm sorry for your loss.
