Obviously you know your relationship with your friend best, but I don't think you should be scared. I have one IRL fandom friend who can't stand yaoi while I'm fujo trash. I still talk about my m/m ships with her and she humors me even though she's not a yaoi fan. I can't stand My Hero Academia, but I still listen to her talk about the show and theories she has and her ships on it.
