This is one of those books that I have no idea if I read or if I have just seen so much of it in the wild, I think I read it.

Nimona! Uprooted! Lumberjanes!

[personal profile] silverr 2019-11-27 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
There's a long long article on Tor about SFF properties getting adaptations, and those three made me jump up and down.

https://www.tor.com/2019/11/25/almost-every-sci-fi-fantasy-tv-or-movie-adaptation-in-the-works-right-now/

(Though I am a bit bummed that Nimona, originally slated for a Feb 2020 release, is now like Jan 2022 because of the Fox/Disney merger.)

I'm glad Butler's Wild Seed is getting an adaptation: I do like it a lot more than the Xenogenesis trilogy.

Other items of interest to some: Kushiel's Dart on the list.

(Also some books I personally think are trash are being adapted, but they'll appeal to market segments I'm not in.)

I wish someone would do Digger.

They did The Call of the Wild with Harrison Ford and a CGI dog.

A CGI dog seems like such a stupid call.

It's not the worst CG, it's just... why couldn't they use a real dog? The CG is nice, props to the artists, but it *feels* fake.
