Aesthetic has a meaning, and it doesn't mean what they used it to mean. Face it, they used the word wrong. No one here was busting their chops about it. We were all expressing legitimate confusion because we legitimately didn't know what they were trying to say. That happens sometimes when you use the wrong word. Live with it.

Maybe you are just too old, but the younger generation uses aesthetic as a mood board and to categorize things that suit their personality as "their aesthetic".

I like pictures of rain and space... that is my aesthetic.

They did use the word aesthetic correctly. It means being concerned with a look or feel, usually something the artist finds interesting, appealing, compelling, or beautiful. Like... what do you think this word means?? Are you confusing it with "ascetic"???
