I know what you mean. So many books I love (especially kids' books) got turned into movies I really disliked.

I agree, I don't care how much interest it might bring to the series because more than likely that interest isn't going to be about the actual series, only the extra dramatics the adaption invented because apparently the original wasn't good enough.
