If they're really doing that, then that's just further proof that the use of algorithms is an attack on the very soul of the web, because ye gods, it's fanfic, who needs algorithms to find fic

That being said, I really can't imagine how anything can make fic be less original than it already is. The rare gems aside, 99% of all fic is the same ten basic plots being written over and over again, with your occasional fandom-specific storylines.
