It wasn't quite as bad as that, but it definitely fell into the flame category. Basically I mocked them for saying how much they hated it when people used the anime personalities over the mangas, while one of their characterizations had absolutely zero resemblance to the actual character and how they pointedly ignored all the horrible things he's done for the sake of shipping him with their favourite character and a shitty play at redemption..
One of the things I said was something along the lines of asking if they were actually going to acknowledge anything of the horrible things the character did or were they going to be swept under the rug along with the rest of his personality.

I wasn't sending death threats, but nothing about what I said was supposed to be taken in any kind of positive way, and there was a lot of shade thrown in. Even my apology got steamrolled by my frustration. I meant it, but it wasn't a very good one.
(also I have a terrible head cold right now so let me know if none of this makes sense)
