I am so confused, why would Harry not know things about the Muggle world? He didn't even know wizards existed for his entire childhood. He may have lived in a broom cupboard but like you said he did all the housework, no magic involved, plus I always thought the Dursley's kept up pretences/pretended to care about Harry when interacting with other people. They bought everything that Dudley wanted too, so even though Harry wasn't allowed to play with his things, he was still introduced to them.

My thoughts exactly. I can see if they are going with the book timeline, he might not know much about the internet, but him knowing nothing about computers seems off. And yet, I've read it. And I can see his knowledge of certain things being limited due to growing up with the Dursleys, like entertainment, but it wouldn't be nil.

I'm the same age as Harry. He should have encountered computers at primary school, even if the Dursleys didn't use one (I have a vague memory of Dudley having had one, and breaking it).

Dudley watched telly incessantly, so Harry would have been reasonably exposed to popular culture that way. In fact, it's quite plausible that he knows much more about eighties tv and music than Hermione, because the Grangers are EXACTLY the sort of people to have had views about either not having a TV, or having rules about not watching the commercial stations (because adverts), or no cartoons.
