I agree that it's the best season in terms of pure baking. An incredibly high level and one of my favorites to go back and rewatch. I don't think it's because the competition is getting diluted - after all, there has to be one season that's better than the others. And I think last season, for instance, had some seriously good bakers.

I do think that the production has gone downhill somewhat since the channel changeover. Mostly the editing and the choice of challenges. I also think they need to re-evaluate the hosts (mostly Sandi tbh). But the baking is still fine even if it's not on the same level of the absolute best season ever.
