I chased a dude down who’d stolen something from work. He was about a foot and a half taller and a decade younger than me, and probably could have punted my 4’11” fat woman self through the plate glass doors without trying. I got the stolen thing back, noticed he was carrying a laptop, went “I hope the laptop is his,” and went back to work.

Another guy came up 40 minutes later to report his laptop stolen. Sigh. I suck at faces and also our security cameras are broken. We have a name and state ID number for the dude, hopefully not off a stolen/fake ID.

I’m tired and sore, and I hope work is uneventful for the rest of today and tomorrow, and please, for the love of fuck, let my wifi be working when I get home.

Nice job tracking down that thief! Don't feel too bad about the laptop, you already went over and beyond, there's no way you could have known that laptop was stolen at the time, and technically it's not necessarily the one that was stolen. Get a good nights sleep and feel better!
