I support the OP more now because I empathize more now. Like the OP, I am afraid to express the same opinion because I know I would be attacked for it. That's been proven here. The similarity of experience creates empathy.

I really don't care if people's feelings have been hurt here. The attacks on the OP and myself have been intended to be just as hurtful. Everyone's an asshole, so who gives a shit?

No, we're not the assholes. It's still you and the OP.

If someone had posted saying, "Jews shouldn't cosplay," and got verbally rebuked for it, it wouldn't prove anything about the attackers. The original statement warrants negative response.

And yes, I know Jews and fat people aren't the same. But fat people are still people, and you're still the asshole for saying what they should and shouldn't be allowed to do. You have a right to you opinion, but it's still a dickish one.

Sorry, but you guys are not the victim here. The OP is pretty much saying "YOU'RE UGLY AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD. YOU NEED TO STOP HAVING FUN WHERE I CAN SEE YOU." Any backlash to that? Should be completely expected, and is pretty damn warranted. Calling someone out on being a dick isn't putting yourself at their level.

Seriously, if you say something assholish, you kind of rescind the right to whine about how we're all just as bad for calling you assholes. If I said "PEOPLE WITH SEVERE ACNE SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO COSPLAY, YOU'RE ALL HIDEOUS AND LOOK RIDICULOUS," I wouldn't be the victim just because other people called me out on being a dick, and they wouldn't be "just as bad" for saying so.

Grow up a little. Saying mean-spirited things opens you up to being bitched out for it.
