I really wish LGBTQ social media would spend less time on stupid slap fights over how fucked the English language is and more time talking about things that matter like Trump policies, HIV, health care access, and discrimination.

I don't know. I'm a lesbian myself, and I'm made literally sick with anxiety about the state of things in this country on kind of a routine basis, so I appreciate the levity. Sometimes I don't want to think about how fucked up everything is, and I'm glad that there are people I can relate to that feel the same way. I think there's room for both.

Ah, maybe I misunderstood, I thought you meant something more lighthearted about like... how stupid the English language is at its core? Which is a style of humor I'm into, haha.

I guess it depends on what they're arguing. I do think that the ever-evolving landscape of queer language is an important conversation to have as well, but I do wish it could be handled more tactfully.
