I was never bothered by the actors ages so much as the fact that James and Lily had finished all the schooling they needed, had jobs (did they?), owned a house, had a bunch of money (at least enough that compounding interest gave their son a big pile of gold in a little over a decade - my IRA and CDs haven't done that), AND had a kid at 21. I mean, this is not even the position my parents and their siblings were in when they were 21 in the early 70s, so don't tell be this was normal for 1981. I guess being a wizard is just that awesome (or did James come from money? Maybe that was it.)
