Dexit wasn’t the problem for me, it was the very rushed storyline that mostly consisted of “Beat Gym, got to next town, do it again x 8”. The interesting stuff doesn’t really start until just before and after you become Champion. Previous games at least had little diversions or side events but this was extremely linear (even the caves are ridiculously short). I know I’m in the minority to actually care about the story vs the meta but it’s why I play.

I just became Champion and haven't played the stuff after but I also didn't like the story. I thought Champion Leon always saying "Go earn your badges" and not getting the player and friends in on the action was unsatisfying. Most of the rest of the game I liked, so I'm still glad I bought it, but I prefer kicking some Team Something ass along with getting my badges.

As far as Dexit, I did have some Pokemon I thought I'd be able to transfer so I wasn't thrilled but I wasn't about to let it ruin the game for me.

You're not alone. I enjoyed the game greatly and I'm still having fun now doing raids and online battling, but the plot felt very underwhelming, which is a shame, because I liked how they did the gyms (the first time in the whole series where it felt like ppl in this world, which supposedly for the most part ADORE good trainers, actually gave a fuck about gym challengers). I liked team yell too, I think it was funny they were just a bunch of Marnie stans lol, but the rest felt just-- Meh. It lacked bite.

For me the last really good plot was in black/white. I'm still waiting for something a bit better. I'd never demand mind blowing plot from pkmn games (although it'd be nice to get one, lol) but... A bit more effort than what it has been done with SWSH would be appreciated
