(Anonymous) 2019-12-09 09:20 am (UTC)(link)1. I feel awkward if someone recs something to me and I end up hating it. (Mostly when friends or mutuals rec it because that way it tends to come up.)
2. A lot of people have genuinely bad taste and it's not much different than searching for the good stuff myself.
3. Main reason: There will always, ALWAYS, be a number of people reccing things that I explicitely state are on my DNW/squick list. Usually with an added "I KNOW you hate this but try this version of it it's sooo great" and I'm just tired of that.
