Re: Movies you can't see because of phobias

I can't watch anything that focuses heavily in breathing issues or lack of breathable air. Characters with asthma, emphysema, divers trapped underwater, etc.

I've had to skip plenty of episodes from my favorite medical dramas because the symptoms of the patients included being unable to breath.

Oh man, I always freak inwardly whenever I see people underwater. I get a weird compulsion to hold my breath (though I don't), and worry they won't get out before I personally run out of breath. Yeah, I'm weird.

NAYRT, but I find myself always think about holding my breath during underwater scenes too! Once in a while I actually do it just to see how long I could hold out compared to the protagonists (which, since I have asthma, is never as long as it is in the movies). 😅

I'm like this too, but only in the movie theater. When I'm watching at home I don't have an issue watching underwater scenes. And I can eventually settle in with characters who aren't normal humans and can breath underwater, though it takes me a while (was a good half hour or so into Aquaman in the theater before I wasn't hyperventilating).
