I've heard other trans people say the same thing, and it seems pretty self-explanatory to me?

If there's an experience in your life that's very personal and intimate, maybe associated with physical and emotional stress...some people will find it cathartic to read stories about that experience, but for other people it'll just upset them and bring up bad feelings. Neither of those is the "wrong" (or "transphobic") reaction! Where you fall on that spectrum is your own business and nobody else's.
