Medical question

[personal profile] philstar22 2019-12-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I have a...weird headache right now. Intense pain right at the part of my head where the top corner of my ear connects to it. Only a little pain elsewhere, but really intens pain there. Not where I usually have migraine pain, and doesn't fl like migraine pain (not throbbing). Anyone know anything about this type of headache?

I get one there from clenching my jaw when I'm stressed.

Could be either cramped muscles (neck/jaw) or not drinking enough.

yes, I think I'm leaning towards muscle cramp from jaw combined with tension headache. Considering I've not had a single good night sleep this week, I'm not surprised I have a headache. I'd just usually expect tension pain to be all around my head, not focused on one spot. But google is telling me it is a thing that can happen.

If it's in the neck/upper shoulder area, try taking a tennis ball and lay against it on the floor, it works well as a makeshift massage tool.

Could be sinuses. You mentioned above about a high pollen level, so you could have buildup in you ear canal due to allergies.

I went to my doctor about these kinds of one-sided headaches (and did MRI and all that just to be safe) and it turned out to be related to stress and muscle clenching.
