I don't really understand how you're drawing these precise moral lines here. On the one hand, making fanart for Blizzard counts as supporting Blizzard; on the other hand, continuing to do business and make money from Chinese markets doesn't count as supporting China. On the one hand, explicitly supporting Chinese government propaganda to make money from Chinese markets makes you the moral equivalent of an out-and-out actual Nazi; on the other hand, tacitly supporting Chinese government propaganda and making money from Chinese markets is completely fine.

I think that everyone has a choice to make about what kind of companies they want to support and what they consider moral. But I really think that what you're doing is picking out 1 company in a basically arbitrary way, because they happen to have gotten the most publicity about it. And really, if you want to do that, it's fine but it's not really on to lecture others about it when you're being inconsistent yourself. IMO

This. Blizzard deserves the backlash for their actions, and boycotting them is perfectly understandable. But judging others for not doing the same feels kind of performative when I don't see people calling for a boycott of, say, Riot Games, which is owned by Tencent and therefore money given to Riot is materially supporting the Chinese government.

I fucking hate League anyway, they're right there with Blizzard, EA and Bethesda in the 'never fucking buying a damn thing from them ever again'.
