Honestly if you're an American and you're trying to avoid supporting Chinese markets, you're already fucked. What can we consume ethically? Where should each of us draw the line? I would assume everyone is drawing theirs in different places, if they're contemplating the issue at all. It's probably not wise to take this one incidence of one Chinese market product and then project consumption of it as representative of everyone's stance as a whole?
