I stand by the notion that twitter is the worst thing to happen to fandom.

Eh, I'd still give that crown to Tumblr. At least with Twitter you can block people for real and not see them on your timeline, whereas with Tumblr you have to utilize blocking and blacklists and in-browser apps to nuke people from your dashboard for good.

I don't even understand how Twitter works for fandom, given character limits. I guess it can work well for posting fan art and other images, and linking to fic, but what else? Just short bursts of squee?
