Holy shit. I remember when the anime finished the manga was still going on strong, but that was years ago;; I imagine anyone who even wants to start reading it now will just look at the chapter count and just say no...

I'm actually very surprised that the anime's still going on though, I have to say... Anime has a habit of straying away from the manga's plot and then finishing on it's own, at least from the anime that I've watched from the time. With how long it's been going on I'm surprised they didn't do it to One Piece too.

Yeah, I got out of the loop a number of years ago. Probably about a year or two before I thought that I heard One Piece had ended... And even then One Piece was one of the major series' that I didn't catch much if any fallout from.
I've got to wonder how it's kept pace with the manga though. Is there that much filler, or does it manage the same storyline? Especially if both the manga and anime have got a week by week update schedule. I can't imagine them being able to synchronize the two so easily.

One Piece is essentially Saturday morning cartoons but in Japan. Same trend with others like Pokemon, Detective Conan, etc. They've been there forever and they just keep renewing.

I guess I was putting One Piece up with Naruto, or Bleach, where the anime took it's own liberties and/or finished it with their own story... At this point I'm very curious at how different the anime is from the manga.

I mainly just hate Robin's redesign. She looked so unique pre-timeskip.

So many of the post-timeskip designs are awful. Robin and Franky being the biggest misses of them all.

Jinbei's the only new crew member so don't worry. But that's why Dressrosa and Whole Cake were split crew arcs - so half could shine. Don't believe anyone screaming about how X, Y, and Z are totally going to join the crew, when everyone also holds fast to Luffy saying he wanted 10 and look, Jinbei is number 10. Boom.

Like idk, I feel you but I also don't? My only real complaint in terms of utilizing the SHs is that Franky seems a lot less badass than he was in Thriller Bark. After Wano is over we have no idea where the storyline is going so it could be that once Kaidou is down we bid a see you later to the Hearts and don't see the Grand Fleet for a while and can finally shed all the extra characters for a bit. Who knows?

I'm not caught up, so if Jinbei is the 10th are we counting Vivi or has someone joined after Brook besides Jinbei?

Personally I always counted Vivi in the 10, but not everyone does.

I have still my hopes up at the very least for Robin's arc since she worked closely zith the revolution during the timeskip! I wouldn't worry about her. Chopper and Franky, yes it's a shame.
