Is there any media that has been around for a while that you've only gotten into recently?

I've gotten into Murdoch Mysteries this week. Still only on season 1, but I'm loving this show.

OOo, nice. Seen and enjoyed three of those. Two, in fact (SG1 and B5) are among my favorite tv shows ever.

ETA: also, I started watching Star Trek last year, I'm done with TOS and most of TAS and currently looking for a way to stream the movies.

Sure, anything more than a few years old counts. Murdoch is still running even though it started in 2008. I was just think in general things that are a few years old and others have been in a while, but you just started enjoying.

Kudos for including TAS ("The Forgotten Trek"). I mean, I don't think it's considered canon, but there's some cool stuff in there.

I started watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine... last year, I think? I haven't seen all that much, because I can't focus enough for TV that often, but I like it!
I also watched Babylon Five many, many years after it finished, but then I was only 8 when it ended. I liked it too, though I thought it got a little unfocused in the last season or so. (Will anything ever match the glorious payoff of Vir Cotto looking up into Morden's lifeless eyes and waving?)

There were reasons for the issues with 5. Originally the plot of 4 was supposed to be 4 and most of 5, with what we got of 5 only being the second half of the season. Then they were told they were only getting four seasons, so they rushed the plot. Then they were given the fifth after all, so they had to add a bunch more filler.

That being said, no, nothing will ever match Vir looking up into Morden's lifeless eyes and waving.

After years of maintaining plausible deniability vis-a-vis her stance on trans rights, Rowling has come out in support of a woman who tried (unsuccessfully) to sue her former employer for not renewing her contract after they learned she was subjecting a trans coworker to a campaign of harassment. This woman attempted to claim in court that transphobia should be as protected as religious speech, and the judge... did not agree.

So, yeah, Rowling's a TERF. Sad but true.

I haven't seen the new film and I don't intend to, but I am taking a very mild pleasure in the critical scorn its getting. I didn't love The Last Jedi, but the hate was toxic and wildly disproportionate, so seeing Knives Out doing well and this doing badly (for a multimillion dollar juggernaut, that is) pleases me.
Also, I heard someone say that the new film retcons stuff from the last one, and I said when I left The Last Jedi that if they retconned the whole "Rey is not a Skywalker, she is not related to anyone you've ever heard of, she's just cool on her own merits" thing then I'd ragequit. I don't know if that's one of the things they retconned, but... it seems likely.
