Queer ships aren't interchangeable. Some people are invested in the characters of Harley and Ivy and their relationship, and going out to find some random gay comic isn't going to count as a replacement for it. Maybe some of us have even read some queer comics and not found any we liked quite as much!

This secret reminds me of when people used to say things like "Instead of writing fanfiction about Draco and Hermione having steamy sex, why don't you just go read a romance novel lol."
