I really liked the first three episodes, but four, five, and six felt weak to me. They also felt weirdly throw-back-y. They've got the whole planet/character(s)/challenge of the week thing going on to a degree that feel very un-2019. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes I miss the episodic nature of 90s and early 00s TV. But I feel like if you're going to do that kind of thing now, it still has to be done better than it usually was back in the day (or at least give us 22 episodes per year to make up for the filler aspects of that storytelling format), and IMO the execution of the Adventure-Of-The-Week stuff on The Mandalorian doesn't always cut it for me.

That's funny to me because I wasn't really feeling it for the first couple episodes and it wasn't till the more recent ones I thought, "okay, I can stick with this now" whereas before I was figuring I'd just watch other stuff on Disney+ and wait for the new Clone Wars season to be released.

Well, are you someone who misses 90s/00s TV? Because that would definitely explain it.

I still have nostalgic affection for Monster/Adventure/Case/Planet-Of-The-Week style shows, but for the most part they just feel clunky to me. Even back then they felt kind of clunky to me.
