One of my coworkers loves Terry Pratchett’s books, but won’t read the witches books (or Harry Potter etc) because she’s an evangelical Christian. I hope she reads at least the Pratchett books (I’m trying to convince her) mostly because they’re great stories, but also because the kind of faith that scares people away from an author they love because they might (shock horror) question their faith and maybe even learn to hate fewer people is bullshit. (I haven’t told her I’m an atheist and am 99% sure she has no clue one of her friends is a Wiccan.)
