Isn't this a repeat? :/ That said, you don't have to have had sex to be able to write good porn, just like you don't have to be a psychopath to write a good psychopathic villain, and you don't have to have died to write a realistic death scene, and you don't have to be the opposite gender in order to write stories with a main character of that gender. When all of that is obvious, I don't understand why the porn thing surprises so many people.

103. That's okay, I'll still continue to judge people based on whether or not they judge others based on idiotic things. (: The only thing you can get from a secret-maker who doesn't use an awesome font is that, yanno, maybe they're not good at graphics. Just maybe.

104. Uh... really, what is so bad about bias? He's not trying to come across as unbiased. He's not saying he's unbiased. He has opinions, and he shares them. Some of us respect him for that, same as we do for Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow.

105. For awesome and action-packed, it's really all just a matter of timing. And to be honest? Even action videos with tons of effects annoy me. There are like... just (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t82DDPtesxc) two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElZY11QVHVw) of my favorite action videos, and they have little to no effects on them (just a couple fade-in/fade-out transition effects).

108. I don't get people liking them only because they smoke, but uh, smoking can be portrayed in a very sexy, attractive way. Sorry, but it's true. This (http://i34.tinypic.com/v618om.png) is and will always remain one of my favorite icons ever, and I find one character lighting another's cigarette to be incredibly hot, and I'm asthmatic AND allergic to smoke in real life, and find cigarettes disgusting besides, and know people who died probably at least partially because they smoked, and one who has cancer probably as a result. It's a horrible habit and I think you're being incredibly dumb if you start and incredibly gross and unhealthy if you do it. What I like in fiction still does not have anything to do with what I like in the real world.

124. You know, people are entitled to dislike the main character. He's not exempt just because he's the viewpoint character and you like him. If they like a ton of other things about the books, including the plotline and the other characters, what the hell kind of right do you have to tell them to stop reading just because they don't like Harry? Maybe instead of them GTFO-ing, you should STFU and just ignore them instead of bitching about how much they suck for daring to dislike the main character.

No no--this is one of the 'doin it wrong' secrets from last week, I promise.

Although I suppose the sentiment could apply to a lot of fandoms...XD

You have asthma AND a smoke allergy, but you like/use an icon of a character smoking?

HUH. WHAT. How can you promote smoking in any way? And yes, I believe using a, "look at this character doing this sexy thing called smoking," icon is further promotion of the idea that smoking is sexy in reality.

Between my own health issues (asthma and a tendency of my left lung to collapse when it gets irritated) and the gruesome death from a smoking-related cancer I watched my paternal grandmother die, I can honestly say there is nothing in the world that I think is less sexy than smoking.

Vomiting from the pain of a collapsed lung = not sexy. Watching someone starve to death because cancer shut down their ability to digest food = not sexy.

If you've experienced similar things, then this response is just...genuinely beyond me. I sort of understand people who have healthy lungs and airways shrugging it off, because it doesn't personally affect them; but this, I don't get! How can you still see anything about smoking as sexy, even in fiction? What about it is hot to you?

Well, really, for one thing... to be fair, it's not just smoking. It's a bit of an aural fixation -- find someone who has a pen in their mouth the same way (just kind of there), or eating a lollipop or a popsicle attractive for pretty much the same reasons. Long, thin object in mouth, especially a small one, is attractive to me -- cigarettes not so much in live action stuff, but in animation and drawings, yes.

Semi-related to that, lighting someone else's cigarette just seems... intimate. The visuals of it are usually very pretty, too -- hand, fire, cigarette in other hand, burning embers, and it gets lifted to the mouth. That's definitely more attractive to me in live action things way more than actually smoking is. Smoke in real life usually isn't pretty to me, but smoke in art, drawings and animation looks different enough (kind of like a thin, concentrated mist?) that it's aesthetically pleasing to me as much as fog clinging to a landscape or a lake is.

Nothing will ever make me think anything more than the visuals (and those 99% in art and not real life) of smoking are any sort of attractive, though. When it comes down to it, mostly it's just the areas that it tends to take place (close up shots of long fingers or lips, icon VERY related? yes, please!) ping me hard on the attractiveness scale, so it's not actually the smoking itself that I'm drawn to. If that... makes any more sense. XD

My beloved grandfather died of lung cancer from smoking, and yet I undestand the sexiness of it. I know that sounds horrible, but many dangerous and damaging things are considered sexy by some people.

Smoking is almost phallic. It involves the lips and fingers in an intimate way. It's not logical to find it appealing, but sexuality never, ever is.

Some people find guns sexy. Some find bleeding or choking sexy. Some are turned on by emotional pain and crying.

I understand your point of view. It's a very rational one, which is why you cannot apply it to sexuality. Sex and attraction aren't rational.

I find smoking sexy, but I would never smoke, and I would try my hardest to stop my loved ones from smoking. It's all about being able to seperate fantasy and reality.

Er... and I should add that I do not equate bleeding and choking fetishes to smoking ones. Finding smoking sexy is more about the body parts involved and the oral undertones, while the bleeding and choking are far more rare and extreme fetishes about power and pain.
