Sorry - I don't usually judge remakes (for instance, I loved the American Queer as Folk way more than the UK one), but being a fan of the original Kath & Kim, the American one was just... painful. After the pilot aired here, I had to go watch a noice nice calming doco on the Galapagos to resist throwing something at the TV. It's just... a complete brutalisation in every way of the original series. In this case, the remake is definitely not good in comparison!

I guess it'd be okay just on its own. It's just that, in comparison, this is nothing like it. It misses the point in a lot of different ways.

Sorry about the snark :) I'd be extremely concerned if someone saw the Australian version and THEN saw this and liked it! But if you haven't seen the original, it's just another... show, I guess.

And do look up the original! It's noice, it's different, it's unyusyuwal a fair bit different to the remake, so you may not like it, but I think it's vastly superior ;)
