Okay, never mind. Just, thinking of two specific characters in TROS that deserved better.

Okay, so, Hux's ending was not in-character and he deserved better. Yes, he needed to die. But He should have died for what he believed in, not betraying it in a completely unbelievable way.

Also, bringing Palpatine back retroactively ruined his perfect ending. His character deserved better and so did Vader's. He should have at least been a clone or ghost if they were going to insist on using him.

And I'd also add that Rose just deserved to be given more lines and more to do.

Also, there was never a good reason to assume Rose would be upgraded to a main character for good.

But, you see, people were shitty to the actress, which automatically means the character deserves better, even if her only purpose was to be idealistic in ways that would have gotten people killed if she was calling the shots.

She was a main character in TFA, though. She was central to Finn's storyline and with him every step of the way. She had the scene amount of a main character or at least a subsidiary character, not a minor one. To have her downgraded to a few small lines and not going with the heroes at all when she absolutely would have doesn't make much sense. Not the worst thing they did by a long shot.

Beaumont has more lines than Rose Tico. She was done so dirty.

He's a villain. He should have died. I would have been happy with him dying painfully. But TFA shows that he believes in the First Order above all else. His hatred of Kylo is not stronger than that. He'd never be a spy for the Resistance, ever. He hates them more than he hates Kylo.

I'd actually have been fine if he didn't show up at all. I'd just have liked his scenes to actually be in-character.

I totally agree. I'm actually kind of sad he didn't lead a rebellion against Supreme Leader Kylo Ren because Ren wasn't upholding the ideals of the First Order, or something.

I'm always fascinated how dumb antis will celebrate shitty writing if it hits a character they don't like. But I'm not surprised.

Bringing back Palpatine is one of those things that sounds so stupid that I assumed it was one of those fake spoilers the first time I heard it

Anakin died for nothing! Merry Christmas, everyone!

Not gonna see the movie for awhile, if ever, but actual Palpatine, not a clone or an evil force-ghost or something, survived? Was he like a head in a jar? Because he would’ve been a hundred something years old.

Yes. Actual Palpatine. And sort of? He was hooked up to machines that along with the dark side were keeping him alive. But there was no hint that was anything but his original body, just damaged now from what Vader did. And then he takes the life force of others and revives completely. It was stupid. Very stupid. And ruined the classic OT redemption plot.

Oh, and they didn't even make it a surprise to make it worth it. The opening crawl says Palpatine is back. I could have at least enjoyed it a little as an okay-written if the movie didn't show you Palpatine until Rey sees him the first time. But nope. Entirely wasted, stupid plot.

I was going to say just about everyone in TROS. Leia deserved a better death, Finn deserved a better everything.

I wish Phasma had had a better ending, but we saw so little of her, I can't say her character deserved better. I just wanted better.

I am still so angry that Finn had absolutely no character arc in TROS. What was the point of him being an ex-stormtrooper?
