Well, there's the age difference. That squicks some people even if 97% of the fandom ships them.

I still think it's kinda silly. I mean, you usually talk about your OTP in the fandom that it's associated with, anyway. So, if your OTP is in the massive majority of "A-Okay!" in that fandom, it makes no sense for it to be a secret.
