Sorry for the late response, it's been one hell of a week.

I actually just came out of a very long relationship with someone who was my entire world, and I related Kurogane/Fai very closely to the two of us, because we had a very similar dynamic in the sense of her infuriating avoidance to commitment, and my no-bullshit tolerance for these sorts of things. I guess I always kind of looked to those two as some sort of a pillar to lean on when things got tough between myself and her. But now that she's gone, the pairing just feels a bit... tainted, I guess? It's hard to feel that strongly about a part of your life you'd rather forget when you associate the two so closely.
