All the quotes of reviews for Cats that someone posted to the GC recently were comedy gold!

I've seen Cats three times because I truly enjoys pain and boy howdy it's so bad (on several different levels) that there's ALWAYS something new that I notice with each viewing

god i love this trainwreck of a movie

I'm a fan of the musical, the CGI didn't bother me (not exactly a fan, but it didn't creep me out either), and I'm actually coming in knowing that the musical is *supposed* to be weird, rather avant-garde and esoteric, and yes, sexual. So the content wasn't going to surprise me, I actually like the abstract oddness of the musical.

My problem was that the movie just felt... kinda boring, and the humor mostly fell flat. The James Corbyn and Rebel Wilson stuff was dull and not even aesthetically interesting. McCavity was so meh. The stage musical is enchanting because it's a ballet and opera, but the dancing on film just doesn't feel as impressive.

I liked the focus on Victoria though and didn't mind the added dialogue to piece the plot together a little. But ultimately.. so boring to just watch close ups of actors singing. "Memory" gives me shivers live, but was so flat and disappointing in the movie.

I've just watched the 1998 version they made and it's VASTLY superior to 2019. Why didn't they just redo the 1998 version? I've seen the movie theaters broadcast stage productions before
