I've liked films that have underperformed or just straight up flopped and I just get on with my life so I get you. The epic crusades to sway people one way or another can be funny.

What I personally "enjoy" in these debates is how much money something makes being used as an argument for or against or as a maker of quality in general.

A. Something makes over a billion worldwide and you happen to love it but someone else didn't care for it and explained in a reasoned way? Well that someone just has bad taste. Billions of dollars can't be wrong!

B. But wait...this film you have deemed shit made lots of money as well. Clearly the general public has bad taste compared to your awesomeness.

I just love the knots people tie themselves in to say that A and B totally aren't at odds with one another.
