The more times passes more I think the Crocodile is Luffy mother will be true. I don’t want it, because I don’t think the fandom can take Crocodile being trans well, it’ll probably be a complete shitshow.

I'm not in the fandom and this piques my interest.

Wait what. I've been out of fanomd for ages now, so I have no idea what's going on. Are there legit hints or is this one of those "I have connected the dots!" "You have connected shit!" things?

Some of things that connect the theory: Oda said that Luffy mother has already appeared in the manga we the reader just don't know who is yet, Oda said about luffy mother: "she’ll be a very tough-looking woman. And strict. There’s no way that she’s a beautiful mother", Crocodile knows Dragon and ivankov, ivankov threatens Crocodile saying he know Crocodile secret and he'll say it if he doesn't do what ivankov wants, ivankov can change change people's bodies (including a person sex), the drawing of Crocodile as a child is kinda androgynous.
if you want to see that theory better there are videos that explain it better and with more detail. There even fanfics that follow the theory

OP fandom has this need to reach for more and more outlandish theories to try to one-up each other, and this one is pretty out there. the "proof" is so far circumstantial and based on "Oda said..." where no one can provide citation of the interview wherein Oda said. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

most of the fandom has already flirted with the idea that Croc's big secret that Ivankov knows is that he was born female but even if that turns out to be true, I'm not convinced it'll go past that.

the part of Oda saying that Luffy mother already appeared in the story comes from the Volume 44 SBS. More expecificky he said that both of Luffy parents appear in the first 45 volumes.

That's factually incorrect. The vol. 44 SBS:

Reader: "will you ever draw Luffy's parents?"
Oda: "I think you'll be pleased by the next volume!"

The next volume, 45, was the first time he drew Dragon.

As for the interview, Oda himself doesn't directly answer but plays coy - as he always does, so as not to get fan's hopes up that he will or won't do something for certain by a certain time or arc or...at all, really. His quoted dialogue implies that he's sort of thinking about it but he has NOT, at all, decided who or what Luffy's mother is YET. Considering how much he has actually had going on in the background since chapter 1, the fact that Luffy's mother is not one of those things is pretty significant.

But neither of those citations are anything about Luffy's mother "already appearing" and being someone we know.

I know it's tempting to try to sleuth old interviews and "hidden" meanings in cover art that turn out to be nothing, trying to get the scoop before someone else does, but willfully distorting such obvious sources to mean the opposite of what they say just fuels the conspiracy fire, it doesn't help anyone's enjoyment of the story.
