I'm allergic to fragrance and my family bought me scented candles and hand creams for xmas.

Even just unwrapping them has made my eyes puffy and itchy.

I never want to cause a scene but I'd rather they just stopped putting on the performance of being a real family. It's been obvious my entire life that they don't care to know anything about me.

My only other present was one of those pictures with the word "family" and a poem about what family means.

Family means I put effort into finding you presents that you will like, and I leave feeling like shit because it's very obvious you didn't bother to give any thought to me.

It could be worse. Most of them aren't mean or anything, just apathetic?

Thanks! I'm still pretty itchy and miserable because I had to get them out again to move them to my donation bag. I hope someone else will be able to enjoy them.
