I get that you're saying that it's a serious disorder, but not everyone with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder has the forbidden thoughts factor. Some people who genuinely have OCD only have the cleaning factor or the symmetry factor or the hoarding factor. Unless you mean that any obsessive thoughts are offensive, I guess.

Look, I love you comment secret makers, I do, but you could have put this text over literally any fictional character with OCD and saved yourself a whole lotta grief here.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm not feeling or receiving any grief at all.

I mean...a lot of media definitely downplays and romanticizes OCD that way, but you're referring to one possible aspect of OCD, so characterizing it your way isn't accurate, either.

the way it's used colloquially and in popular media is definitely bullshit

but ocd isn't one size fits all and people with ocd have a huge variety of different symptoms from it

signed, also someone with obsessive dominant ocd

OCD can give you intrusive thoughts and run those thoughts on a loop all day if it likes. OCD manifests itself in different ways. My mum has catalogs, coupons, magazines and papers strewn on the kitchen table and countertops because she's lazy and doesn't throw things away, or read them all in time. But when you offer to help with the mess she refuses to let you throw things away or organize it all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
dinogrrl: Could you try Earth Logic? -Jack (Earth Logic)

Agreed. I really hope the secret maker just chose a really bad way to word things, because My OCD Is The Only OCD is definitely not the solution to media's fixation on Easily Identifiable Traits Of Disorders.
