It's not Yoda, it's just another one of Yoda's species (like Yaddle from TPM). But it's green like Yoda so everyone just keeps calling it that.

Ah. I'm not sure what 'Yaddle from TPM' means, but I get it now. I thought it was a prequel series that was about the Yoda character as a baby because I've heard literally nothing but "baby Yoda" and had zero clue it was a totally different character.

Yaddle is a Jedi Master from The Phantom Menace film. I haven't watched The Mandalorian either, tbh, but I think it's set after soonish after Return of the Jedi.

Oooooooh. Well. Now it makes sense all of a sudden. I haven't watched the show yet and only seen all the gifs floating around and was very confused why Yoda is a baby in it because he's hundreds of years old and that would mean the show woukd be a prequel to Star Wars by several hundred years as well.
Huh.
