As I see it, if you give money to people who need it, they’ll use it. If you give money to people who don’t need it, it’s their responsibility to give it to people who need it.

Meh, who cares if you are doing it for selfish reasons. You are doing good, that's all that matters to me.

That seems fair enough to me. Most people do good things because it makes them feel good, and charities actively target people's empathy - look at this person, they're just like you! - so the bit about liking to give to people you know you have something in common with is also not a great shock.

So... uh, wanna lend me a few bucks?

Nothing about this secret suggests you're a bad person.

Agreed.

I, too, get a high from giving people money. Well, the high comes from them expressing appreciation for it.

I don't see how this in any way makes you a bad person.
I wish i could give money to my friends in need, but I'm as broke as they are.
You do you.

Someone asks for help and you are not only able to provide that help but it makes you feel good to do it? That's kinda the opposite of being a bad person imho.

I don't think this makes you a bad person. I usually have the opposite reaction, which is to definitely not give people money because they're probably trying to take advantage of people.
